Age Limit - 18 – 22 Years

Qualification -

SSC with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate AND Trade certificate in Electrician / Fitter / Machinist / Electronic Mechanic/ Draftsman (Mechanical). The candidates should meet any of the following requirements as regards to Trade Certificates: National Trade Certificate (NTC) (ITI pass out) of two year duration. OR
National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) of Two years duration under Apprenticeship Training Scheme. OR
NTC (ITI pass out) of one year duration plus one year relevant work experience after the completion of course. OR
NTC (ITI pass out) of one-year duration plus NAC of minimum one year duration under Apprenticeship Training Scheme.

Method of Selection 
  • Stage-1: Preliminary Test
  • Stage-2: Advanced Test
  • Stage-3: Trade/Skill Test
Stage-1: Preliminary Test

Preliminary written test will consist of 50 multiple choice questions (choice of 4 answers) of one hour duration in the following proportion:

a. Mathematics : 20 questions
b. Science : 20 questions
c. General awareness : 10 questions

Note* - 

1. Three marks will be awarded for each correct answer and One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

2. All candidates with marks <40% in UR category, <30% in OBC category and <30% in ST category will be screened out. 

Stage-2: Advanced Test 

1. All candidates screened in Stage-1 will be allowed to undertake Stage-2 (Advanced Written Test) in their respective Trade.

2. The Test will comprise of 50 multiple choice questions (choice of four answers) of two hours duration.

3. Three (3) marks will be awarded for each correct answer and One (1) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

4. Candidates with marks <30% in UR category, <20% in OBC category and <20% in ST category will be screened out.

5. A merit list of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2 based upon scores obtained in Stage-2 test only.

6. In the event of tie, the following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding the position in the merit list:

(a) Candidate with lower negative Marks (Less number of Incorrect Answers) in Stage-2 to be placed higher on the merit list.

(b) Candidate with higher marks in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.

(c) Candidate with lower negative Marks (Less number of Incorrect Answers) in Stage-1 to be placed higher on merit list.

(d) Candidate with higher positive marks (More number of Correct Answers) in Mathematics in Stage-1 to be placed higher on merit list.

(e) Candidate with higher positive marks (More number of Correct Answers) in Science in Stage-1 to be placed higher on merit list.

(f) Candidate older in age to be placed higher on merit list. 

Stage-3: Trade/Skill Test - 

1. Based upon the Merit List prepared after Stage-2, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage-3 (Trade/Skill Test) in each Trade.

2. The number of candidates shortlisted for Trade/Skill Test will depend upon the number of candidates qualifying in Stage-2 but will not exceed 5 times the number of vacancies in each Trade. IPR reserves the right for number of candidates to be called for Stage-3 (Trade/Skill Test).

3. The Trade/Skill Test shall be conducted on a ‘Go/No-Go’ basis for qualifying the candidates.

4. Candidates clearing the Trade/Skill Test will be shortlisted and empaneled in order of merit based on marks secured in Stage-2. 

The above Tests (Stage-1, Stage-2 and Stage-3) will be conducted in two consecutive days and the details would be notified.
